It has a high conversion rate of 98% with minimal reactions and reaction time. The Methyl Ester conversion is direct, and it is not necessary to use exotic materials of construction.

The process starts with the reaction of fat with an alcohol, like methanol in the presence of a catalyst. This produces glycerin and methyl esters or Biodiesel. The methanol has to be charged in excess to assist in the quick conversion and recovered for reuse. You can use sodium or potassium hydroxide as the catalyst.
